Clearances

Pursuant to the provision of Act 153 of 2014, all school employees with direct or regular contact with children are required to obtain background checks prior to beginning employment and on a periodic basis as required by law.  

How ChildLine Protects Children

ChildLine is part of a mandated statewide child protective services program designed to accept child abuse referrals and general child well-being concerns, and transmit the information quickly to the appropriate investigating agency.  ChildLine is responsible for receiving verbal and electronic referrals 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

The toll-free hotline, 
1-800-932-0313, is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive reports of suspected child abuse.

Community-Based Reform Initiatives

Dr. Nancy Hines, Superintendent, addresses the board about community-based reform efforts being undertaken by the District in collaboration with community-based agencies and groups.

Class of 2023 Commencement

Commencement exercises for the Class of 2023 will be held on June 9, 2023 at 6:30 PM at Yuhas-McGinley Stadium. Beginning at 6:15 p.m., the event will be broadcast live on phsd.org. 


 

Athletics and Activities Presentation

Stephanie Strauss, the district athletic director, gave a presentation to the board of directors about Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), college recruitment, and public relations during the regular voting meeting in April.
