School Counselors and Psychologists

School Counselors

The American School Counseling Association and the Pennsylvania School Counseling Association assert that school counseling is a vital element of the total educational experience. The Penn Hills School District's School Counseling Department is devoted to providing all children with a comprehensive curriculum that systematically addresses the three domains of academic, career, and personal/social development. This strategy enables us to assist kids in identifying, planning, and achieving their unique interests, skills, and objectives. Our counselors collaborate with parents, educators, and the community to provide support for student achievement, taking the students' developmental needs into careful consideration.

School Psychologists

Penn Hills School District is equipped to provide student-level and system-level school psychological services to assist students in gaining the most from their educational curriculum. Student-level services may include interventions and instructional assistance for academic skill development, as well as interventions and mental health services for social and life skill development. Consultation for school-wide practices that enhance learning and crisis response services are system-level services. As a member of several school-based teams, the School Psychologist supports the problem-solving process and consults with teachers and parents as necessary. Penn Hills has two full-time school psychologist to assist with and supervise the delivery of these services.
