Families can find free, healthy meals for kids all summer long through the USDA's SUN Programs.
The Penn Hills School District will be distributing meals on Friday, May 2, to students, parents, and community members.
The Penn Hills School District, in collaboration with The Nutrition Group, is excited to announce the launch of a new initiative aimed at providing free afterschool meals to school-age children within the community. This program is part of a broader effort to support the nutritional needs of children and ensure they have access to healthy meals outside of regular school hours.
Due to the COVID-19 health emergency, children who are eligible for free or reduced-priced meals at school will receive extra food benefits to cover the period of the summer of 2023. These food benefits are called Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer or P-EBT benefits. P-EBT benefits help families in Pennsylvania buy food during the summer.
