Teaching, Learning and Assessment
The Penn Hills SD Department of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment works to facilitate the development and implementation of the District's K-12 curriculum, adoptions, and resources used in the classroom. This is based on standards developed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and adopted by the Penn Hills School District. Departmental responsibility also includes the written curricula taught through instruction that is matched to student needs and outcomes that are culturally responsive. The Department of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment also supports District staff in the development and implementation of standards-based local assessments that are used to adjust instructional practices . We are committed to high-quality instruction and engaging learning environments that intellectually stimulate our diverse student population.
