Penn Hills HS Coding Team Achieves Top Honors at Carnegie Mellon Competition
Brian Brown

Exciting news from the Penn Hills High School Coding Team! Two of our students earned top placements in the Carnegie Mellon University Connected Through Code competition, a national event for high school students hosted by one of the world’s top computer science programs. Judges noted that this round was especially competitive, making these achievements even more impressive.

First Place - Avin Keller
Avin earned 1st place in his division with his multiplayer game Stickman Chronolink, an ambitious and highly creative project that truly stood out.

Second Place – Dulce Hernandez
Dulce earned 2nd place in her division with United We Code, an interactive program exploring the theme of connection through technology and how technology influences cultures around the world.

These are remarkable accomplishments for Avin, Dulce, and the Penn Hills Coding Team. Carnegie Mellon will be hosting even larger competitions this year, and we look forward to seeing our students continue to excel!
