Penn Hills School District is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $250,000 grant through the Tull Family Foundation’s new Team UP initiative, a major investment in strengthening high school athletics across Allegheny County.

The initiative, launched by Thomas and Alba Tull, provides more than $2 million in support to nine school districts, with awards based on student population. Penn Hills is honored to be among the districts selected to receive this transformative funding.

The Team UP program is designed to expand opportunities for student-athletes by giving districts flexibility to invest in areas of greatest need, from equipment and uniforms to transportation, safety resources, training support, and access to a wider range of athletic programs.

The foundation unveiled the initiative at a news conference on Friday at Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy, joined by student-athletes, educators, elected officials, and professional athletes including Ben Roethlisberger, Jerome Bettis, Charlie Batch and James Harrison.

Penn Hills School District extends its deepest gratitude to the Tull Family Foundation for this remarkable investment in our students. This support will help us continue to build athletic programs that provide students with the skills and experiences that last a lifetime.

The district will work with the foundation to measure the impact of the grant over time and ensure the funding is used to best serve our student-athletes.
