Penn Hills Varsity Football Home Opener and Youth Night Celebration

Penn Hills took an early lead with senior Naytel Mitchell scoring a 3-yard touchdown just 3:51 into the game, putting Penn Hills ahead 7-0. However, Alabama commit Peter Notaro responded for North Allegheny with a 53-yard field goal, narrowing the lead to 7-3 late in the first quarter. By halftime, North Allegheny had pulled ahead with a 15-14 lead. 

In the second half, Penn Hills had a chance to reclaim the lead with an 80-yard drive, but an interception at North Allegheny's 40-yard line sealed the game, securing an 18-14 victory for North Allegheny. 

The game also featured Penn Hills' annual Youth Night, where students in grades K-8, sporting their youth jerseys, participate in the pre-game handshake tunnel and coin toss. It was a great opportunity for the young athletes to experience the excitement of a varsity game up close. 

While the outcome wasn't what Penn Hills hoped for, the team bounced back in a dominant 54-0 victory over Fox Chapel on Friday, September 13. Be sure to mark your calendars for these upcoming matchups:
