Educators and students, we're excited to share a fantastic summer opportunity that's gaining recognition across the state! Sigma Resources’ subsidiary, Simcoach Games, is partnering with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and regional schools to offer the Junior Game Developer Pre-Apprenticeship in video game development.

Program Details:

  • Start Date: Monday, June 10
  • Duration: Six weeks
  • Compensation: $10 per hour
  • Location: Simcoach’s Carson St. offices on the South Side
  • Focus: This year, students will design games aimed at helping people with developmental disabilities become more independent by building life and vocational skills.

Why Participate?

  • Broad-Based Technological Expertise: Students will gain skills in digital art, design, and production, preparing them for a range of tech jobs.
  • State Recognition: The program recently received a $250,000 workforce development grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry. This funding will help train an additional 120 students over the next three years.
  • Career Preparation: The pre-apprenticeship program provides holistic education in game design and tech skills, setting students up for success in the technology sector.
