Honoring Our Own: Mr. Jerry Wilson Recognized at Steelers Game for Military Service

We are proud to highlight the recognition of one of our own, Mr. Jerry Wilson, a B.A.M. (Becoming A Man) Counselor at Penn Hills High School, who was honored during the Steelers vs. Buccaneers game on August 16, 2025 for his distinguished service in the United States Army.

Mr. Wilson served two combat tours in Ramadi, Iraq, first in 2005 under President George W. Bush, and again in 2008 under President Barack Obama. During his first tour, he operated as a Raven Operator, piloting over 100 missions. Despite constant enemy fire, Sgt. Wilson’s efforts led to the elimination of enemy forces and the saving of countless American lives.

The recognition came as part of the U.S. Steel Salute to Heroes, which honors veterans for their service and bravery.

Please join us in congratulating and thanking Mr. Wilson for his dedication and continued service to our students here at Penn Hills High School.
