Sports Physicals

The health and well-being of our student-athletes are of paramount importance. As we gear up for another exciting sports season, we want to remind all student-athletes and their families about the importance of sports physicals.

Why Are Sports Physicals Essential?

Sports physicals are not just a requirement; they are a vital step in ensuring the safety and health of our young athletes. These examinations help identify any underlying medical conditions that may affect a student's ability to participate in sports. They also serve as a preventive measure to detect potential issues before they become serious.

Schedule Your Sports Physicals Now

To participate in Penn Hills School District athletic programs, all student-athletes are required to have a current sports physical. We strongly encourage you to schedule these examinations well in advance of the upcoming sports season.

Where to Get a Sports Physical? You have several options for obtaining a sports physical:
  • Your family physician or pediatrician
  • Urgent care centers
  • Specialized sports medicine clinics
  • During scheduled times in your school health office with the School District Physician

Important Reminders:

  • Make sure the physical exam includes all necessary components as per PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) guidelines.
  • Sports physicals are typically valid for one year.
  • Ensure that all required forms are completed and submitted to your school's athletic department.

Please take the necessary steps to ensure that your student-athlete is ready for the upcoming sports season. If you have any questions or require additional information, don't hesitate to reach out to the athletic department at 412-793-7000 x5206.

Let's make this sports season memorable for all the right reasons by keeping our student-athletes safe and healthy. Thank you for your support and dedication to our young athletes.
